LTC Staff Pharmacist | Slippery Rock, Pennsylvania

A Long Term Care Pharmacist role is available on a contract-to-hire basis, offering a 3-month initial assignment with the potential for permanent placement. This position is based in Slippery Rock, PA, and requires 40 hours per week. The pharmacy operates Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM, Saturday 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, and Sunday 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM.

Key Responsibilities:

• Verify medication orders entered by data entry technicians for skilled nursing facilities, personal care facilities, and hospice care.
• Inspect blister-packed medications as well as sterile and non-sterile products.
• Respond promptly to calls from nursing facility staff, hospice nurses, and physicians, providing clinical expertise.
• Manage controlled substance counts and maintain accurate perpetual inventory documentation.
• Check and replenish emergency medication boxes.
• Utilize pharmacy operating systems including QS1, Docutrack, and PCC to manage patient and medication records.

Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree in Pharmacy.
• Active pharmacist license in Pennsylvania in good standing.
• Minimum of 1 year of pharmacist experience; long term care experience preferred.
• Physical ability to sit, stand, perform fine motor tasks, maintain visual acuity, and lift up to 30 pounds.
