Outpatient Staff Pharmacist - Staten Island, New York
An opportunity is available for an experienced Pharmacist to support outpatient pharmacy operations within a large healthcare system in Brooklyn, NY. This full-time, 612 month contract role centers on retail and specialty pharmacy functions, with a key emphasis on 340B program management, regulatory compliance, and accreditation standards.
Responsibilities include managing pharmacy workflows to handle approximately 65,000 prescriptions annually, overseeing 340B pharmacy operations which comprise about 80% of the business, and ensuring adherence to Medicare and Medicaid regulations. Familiarity with accreditation bodies such as ACHC and URAC is essential. The pharmacist will collaborate closely with pharmacy leadership, compliance, and legal teams to uphold high standards and support strategic goals. Utilization of the PrimeRx pharmacy system will be an integral part of daily activities.
Key Qualifications:
- Active New York Pharmacist license
- Experience in retail/outpatient and specialty pharmacy settings
- In-depth knowledge of 340B program operations and compliance requirements
- Proven experience with Medicare and Medicaid regulations
- Strong understanding of ACHC and/or URAC accreditation processes
- Expertise in regulatory compliance within outpatient or retail pharmacy environments
- Excellent organizational and communication skills, comfortable collaborating with multiple departments
