IV Sterile Compounding Retail Staff Pharmacist in Thomasville, NC

A pharmacy professional is sought for a Staff Pharmacist role in a specialty retail environment focused on sterile and non-sterile compounding. This position offers a contract-to-hire opportunity with a 13-week initial period. The role requires dedication to accuracy and patient safety while working with compounded medications.

Location:

• Thomasville, NC

Schedule/Hours:

• Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM
• One-hour lunch break

Key Responsibilities:

• Dispense prescription medications accurately within a retail pharmacy setting
• Perform both sterile and non-sterile compounding tasks following established protocols
• Enter orders using PK software (training provided for candidates unfamiliar with PK)
• Ensure compliance with all pharmacy laws and standards, particularly around compounding practices
• Counsel patients on medication usage and safety when appropriate
• Maintain inventory and proper documentation for compounded and retail medications

Qualifications/Desired Experience:

• Licensed Pharmacist in North Carolina
• Minimum 1 to 2 years of pharmacy experience required
• Experience with sterile compounding is a strong advantage
• Experience with non-sterile compounding is also desirable
• Familiarity with retail pharmacy operations and prescription processing systems
• Willingness to learn and adapt to new software systems, including PK order entry
