A pharmacy-focused role is available for an experienced Staff Pharmacist with specialized skills in sterile compounding and a background in home infusion or inpatient hospital settings. This position offers a Monday through Friday daytime schedule from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM and is based in Tulsa, Oklahoma. The role is a contract-to-hire opportunity spanning approximately 13 weeks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Accurately accept and dispense prescription medications in accordance with legal standards.
  • Monitor patient medication compliance and detect patterns of overuse.
  • Verify the suitability of prescribed medications for individual patients.
  • Maintain confidential and precise records of all patient interactions and pharmacy files.
  • Educate and advise patients on medication usage, potential reactions, and answer related questions.
  • Provide counseling on both prescription and over-the-counter medications, including storage, dosage, side effects, and drug interactions.
  • Offer additional health services such as smoking cessation guidance, blood pressure monitoring, and cholesterol management.
  • Instruct patients on correct use of medical devices like blood pressure monitors and glucose meters.
  • Compound sterile and non-sterile medications following proper protocols.
  • Supervise pharmacy staff, including technicians and clerks.
  • Manage inventory of pharmaceuticals and medical supplies efficiently.
  • Collaborate effectively with healthcare professionals including physicians, nurses, and pharmacy interns.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree required.
  • Active Oklahoma pharmacy license.
  • Proven experience in home infusion or inpatient hospital pharmacy practice.
  • Sterile compounding expertise is highly preferred.
