Pharmacist in Ubly, MI
This full-time pharmacist position offers a unique opportunity to split your expertise between retail and inpatient pharmacy settings, located just one block apart. You will spend approximately 70% of your time in the retail pharmacy and 30% in the hospital inpatient pharmacy, providing diverse and dynamic work experience.
Schedule:
- Four days per week, 7:30 am to 5:30 pm
- One weekday off
- Rotating weekends
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure compliance with all applicable policies, procedures, codes, and standards
- Review and monitor medication orders from physicians and authorized prescribers for accuracy, allergies, and interactions
- Prepare intravenous admixtures following standard protocols
- Provide knowledgeable responses to questions from staff and patients
- Maintain confidentiality in all pharmacy operations
- Work effectively both independently and collaboratively within the healthcare team
Software systems used include Pioneer RX for retail pharmacy management and CPSI for the hospital inpatient setting, with a transition planned to EPIC in November. The retail pharmacy manages an average prescription volume of 250 per day (approximately 1,300 per week), including prescriptions for adult foster care homes and a local long-term care facility.
Qualifications:
- Graduate of an ACPE-accredited College of Pharmacy
- Licensed pharmacist in the State of Michigan
- Experience in hospital pharmacy preferred, but willingness to learn inpatient pharmacy operations is essential
