Oncology IV Sterile Compounding Staff Pharmacist in Urbana, IL
An opportunity is available for a Clinical Pharmacist to contribute specialized expertise in an oncology clinic setting. This contract-to-hire role offers a dynamic environment focused on clinical oncology pharmacy services, with a schedule of daytime hours from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM for an initial 13-week engagement, with potential for extension and permanent hire.
Location: Urbana, IL
Schedule:
- Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM 5:00 PM
- 13 weeks duration with chance for extension/direct hire
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide clinical pharmacy support specific to oncology treatment plans
- Collaborate with healthcare teams to develop and manage clinical oncology plans
- Oversee preparation and verification of hazardous medications, including sterile compounding with pharmacy technicians
- Supervise pharmacy operations ensuring safety and regulatory compliance, particularly in handling hazardous drugs
- Utilize Epic for order entry and clinical documentation
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Active Illinois pharmacy license
- Proven clinical pharmacy experience in oncology, including chemotherapy management
- Strong background in handling hazardous drugs and sterile compounding
- Demonstrated ability to work independently within an isolated pharmacy role
- Proficiency using Epic electronic health record system
