LTC Staff Pharmacist | Valencia, Pennsylvania

A long-term care pharmacist opportunity is available for a licensed professional with a strong background in skilled nursing and hospice environments. This contract position is based in Valencia, Pennsylvania, with a commitment of 40 hours per week and the possibility of extension beyond the initial one-month assignment.

Schedule:

• Monday to Friday: 8:00 AM 6:00 PM
• Saturday: 8:00 AM 4:00 PM
• Sunday: 8:00 AM 3:00 PM

Key responsibilities include verifying medication orders processed by data entry technicians for skilled nursing facilities, personal care homes, and hospice services. This role requires checking both blister-packed and sterile/non-sterile medications, providing detailed clinical support via phone to nursing and hospice staff as well as physicians, and managing controlled substance inventories through accurate counting and documentation. Additionally, the pharmacist will oversee the inspection of emergency medication boxes to ensure compliance and readiness.

Candidates should possess:

• A Bachelors degree in Pharmacy
• Active pharmacist license in good standing in Pennsylvania
• At least one year of pharmacy experience, with a preference for long-term care
• Proficient in QS1, Docutrack, and PCC operating systems
• Physical ability to perform tasks including sitting, standing, fine motor handling, and visual inspection, with the capacity to lift up to 30 pounds
