Long Term Care Staff Pharmacist in Valencia, PA

Support the safe and effective delivery of medications in a Long Term Care setting with a contract pharmacist position based in Valencia, PA. This role involves critical review and verification of prescriptions for skilled nursing facilities, personal care facilities, and hospice patients, ensuring compliance with clinical standards and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

• Verify medication orders entered by data entry technicians for accuracy and appropriateness.
• Review blister-packed medications as well as sterile and non-sterile medications.
• Respond to and resolve clinical inquiries from nursing facilities, hospice nurses, and physicians.
• Manage and document controlled substance inventories, including counting and recording in perpetual inventory logs.
• Inspect emergency medication boxes regularly.
• Utilize pharmacy operating systems including QS1, Docutrack, and PCC for efficient workflow management.

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

• Bachelors degree in Pharmacy.
• Active pharmacist license in good standing with the state of Pennsylvania.
• Minimum of 1 year of pharmacist experience; Long Term Care pharmacy experience preferred.
• Ability to perform physical tasks such as sitting, standing, precise hand movements, visual acuity, and lifting up to 30 pounds.

Schedule:

• 40 hours per week.
• Pharmacy operating hours:
  • Monday through Friday: 8:00 AM 6:00 PM
  • Saturday: 8:00 AM 4:00 PM
  • Sunday: 8:00 AM 3:00 PM
