Long Term Care Staff Pharmacist in Valencia, PA

This opportunity is for a Long Term Care Pharmacist position based in Valencia, PA, offering a 3-month contract-to-hire arrangement. The role focuses on supporting skilled nursing facilities, personal care facilities, and hospice care through precise medication management and clinical support.

Schedule:

• 40 hours per week
• Pharmacy Hours: Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM 6:00 PM; Saturday, 8:00 AM 4:00 PM; Sunday, 8:00 AM 3:00 PM

Key Responsibilities:

• Review medication orders entered by data entry technicians to ensure accuracy for various care settings
• Verify packaged medications, including blister packs, as well as sterile and non-sterile medications
• Respond promptly to inquiries from nursing facilities, hospice nurses, and physicians, providing clinical guidance
• Perform controlled substance counts and maintain accurate perpetual inventory records
• Inspect and verify emergency medication boxes

Desired Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree in Pharmacy
• Active pharmacist license in good standing within Pennsylvania
• Minimum of one year of pharmacy experience, with preference given to candidates with Long Term Care (LTC) experience
• Proficient with pharmacy operating systems such as QS1, Docutrack, and PCC
• Ability to perform physical tasks including sitting, standing, fine motor skills, visual acuity, and lifting up to 30 pounds
