Long Term Care Staff Pharmacist in Valencia, PA

A Long Term Care Contract Pharmacist position is available in Valencia, PA, offering a focused opportunity to support skilled nursing facilities, personal care facilities, and hospice care providers. This assignment has an initial 1-month duration with a possibility of extension, and an 8-week contract will also be considered. The role is designed for a pharmacist with experience in long-term care settings who is licensed to practice in Pennsylvania.

Schedule:

• 40 hours per week
• Pharmacy hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM 6:00 PM
• Saturday: 8:00 AM 4:00 PM
• Sunday: 8:00 AM 3:00 PM

Key Responsibilities:

• Verify medication orders entered by data entry technicians, including sterile and non-sterile preparations, as well as blister-packed medications.
• Respond to phone inquiries from nursing facility staff, hospice nurses, and physicians, providing clinical guidance and answering questions.
• Perform thorough counts of controlled substances and maintain accurate records in the perpetual inventory.
• Inspect emergency medication boxes to ensure readiness.

Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree in Pharmacy.
• Active pharmacist license in Pennsylvania, in good standing.
• Minimum one year of pharmacy experience; long-term care experience preferred.
• Proficiency with QS1, Docutrack, and PCC pharmacy operating systems.
• Physical ability to sit, stand, perform fine motor tasks, maintain visual acuity, and lift up to 30 pounds.
