Hospital Inpatient Staff Pharmacist in Walker, LA

This position offers a Pharmacist role on the 2nd shift in a hospital inpatient setting, providing a dynamic environment with a census of 131 beds and 60 to 70 active beds. The role is for a contract-to-hire opportunity lasting approximately 13 weeks, with potential for extension or direct hire, and is located in Walker, LA. There are 3 to 4 openings available.

Schedule/Hours:

• Monday to Friday, 12:30 pm to 9:00 pm
• Rotating weekends

Responsibilities:

• Manage and dispense medications accurately in an inpatient hospital environment.
• Utilize Epic for order entry to ensure precise medication administration.
• Operate Pyxis automation systems to maintain medication dispensing efficiency.
• Collaborate with healthcare providers and nursing staff to optimize pharmacological care.
• Adhere to hospital policies, regulatory standards, and pharmacy protocols.

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

• Current Louisiana pharmacy license.
• Experience in inpatient hospital pharmacy practice.
• Familiarity with Pyxis medication automation systems preferred (training provided).
• Experience using Epic electronic health record system preferred (training provided).
• Strong attention to detail and excellent communication skills.
