Hospital Inpatient Staff Pharmacist - Walker, Louisiana

This opportunity is for a licensed Pharmacist to provide essential inpatient care within a hospital setting, supporting medication management and ensuring safe and effective pharmaceutical services. The position operates within a 131-bed inpatient environment, with an active census typically between 60 to 70 beds, offering a dynamic and impactful practice setting.

Key Responsibilities:

• Dispense and verify medications accurately in accordance with hospital protocols and patient-specific orders.
• Collaborate with healthcare teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes through effective medication therapy management.
• Utilize Epic electronic health record system for order entry and documentation.
• Manage automated dispensing systems, such as Pyxis, to streamline medication distribution.
• Participate in medication reconciliation and provide education to patients and staff as needed.
• Adhere to all regulatory requirements and maintain compliance with pharmacy policies.
• Work rotating 1st and 2nd shifts (7:00 AM - 3:30 PM; 12:30 PM - 9:00 PM) Monday through Friday, including weekend rotations.

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

• Active Louisiana pharmacy license.
• Experience in inpatient hospital pharmacy practice is required.
• Familiarity with Pyxis systems is advantageous; training available.
• Experience with Epic electronic health records is a plus; training available.
• Strong communication and organizational skills with attention to detail.
