Long Term Care Mail Order Staff Pharmacist - Washington, NC

A pharmacy professional opportunity is available for a dedicated pharmacist with experience in long-term care (LTC) and mail order pharmacy services. This Contract to Hire position offers a 15-week assignment with potential for direct hire, providing valuable experience working in diverse pharmacy environments.

Location: Washington, NC
Schedule:

• Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM 6:00 PM
• Some Saturdays, 9:00 AM 6:00 PM

Key Responsibilities:

• Accept and accurately dispense prescription medications in compliance with legal requirements.
• Monitor patient medication usage to ensure compliance and identify over-usage patterns.
• Maintain confidential patient records with precision, ensuring all pharmacy files are well managed.
• Provide expert advice to patients regarding medications, including administration, side effects, and drug interactions.
• Deliver additional patient services such as smoking cessation programs, blood pressure checks, and cholesterol management.
• Educate patients on the proper use of medical devices like blood pressure monitors and glucose meters.
• Compound medications, prepare sterile solutions, and adhere strictly to pharmaceutical standards.
• Supervise pharmacy staff, including technicians and clerks, ensuring smooth daily operations.
• Maintain sufficient inventory of pharmaceuticals and medical supplies to support patient needs.
• Collaborate closely with healthcare providers to identify and address drug-related issues.

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

• Valid North Carolina pharmacy license required.
• Previous pharmacy experience is essential.
• Experience in long-term care environments is highly preferred.
