LTC Mail Order Staff Pharmacist | Waukesha, Wisconsin

A pharmacy opportunity is available for a licensed pharmacist to support long-term care and mail order pharmacy environments. This role offers a second shift schedule and is a contract-to-hire position located in Waukesha, WI.

Schedule:

• Monday to Friday, 1:00 PM to 9:30 PM
• Some Saturdays required
• 8-week contract duration, with 2 positions available

Responsibilities:

• Accept and accurately dispense prescription medications while ensuring compliance with legal standards.
• Monitor patient medication compliance and identify patterns of over-usage.
• Maintain confidential and precise records of patient information and pharmacy files.
• Provide in-depth medication counseling to patients, including proper dosage, side effects, storage, and drug interaction guidance.
• Offer additional patient support services such as smoking cessation, blood pressure measurements, and cholesterol management.
• Educate patients on the use of medical devices like blood pressure monitors and glucose meters.
• Compound medications for both internal and external use, preparing sterile solutions in adherence to established procedures.
• Supervise pharmacy staff, including technicians and clerks, ensuring efficient workflow.
• Manage pharmaceutical and medical supply inventories to maintain adequate stock levels.
• Collaborate with physicians and healthcare practitioners to identify and resolve drug-related patient issues.

Qualifications:

• Valid Wisconsin pharmacy license is required.
• Prior pharmacy experience is essential.
• Experience in long-term care settings is highly desirable.
• Strong communication skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to supervise and lead pharmacy support staff effectively.
