Mail Order Long Term Care Staff Pharmacist - Waukesha, WI

A Mid-Shift Pharmacist opportunity is available in a Long Term Care (LTC) mail order environment, offering a 13-week contract with the potential to transition to direct hire. This role operates Monday through Friday, 11:00 a.m. to 7:30 p.m., with one weekend shift required per month.

Key Responsibilities:

• Accurately accept and dispense prescription medications in compliance with legal standards.
• Monitor patient medication adherence and identify patterns of overuse.
• Ensure prescribed medications are appropriate for each patient and maintain confidential patient records.
• Advise patients on medication usage, potential side effects, and answer related questions.
• Provide consultations on prescription and over-the-counter medications, including dosage, storage, side effects, and drug interactions.
• Offer patient services such as smoking cessation support, blood pressure monitoring, cholesterol management, and education on medical device use.
• Compound medications for internal and external use, preparing sterile solutions following established procedures.
• Supervise pharmacy staff, including technicians and clerks, ensuring smooth pharmacy operations.
• Maintain adequate pharmaceutical and medical supply inventory.
• Collaborate with healthcare professionals to identify and address drug-related patient issues.

Qualifications:

• Valid Wisconsin pharmacy license required.
• Proven pharmacy experience; LTC pharmacy experience is highly desirable.
• Experience in sterile compounding is essential.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively within a healthcare team.
