A skilled pharmacist is needed to support long-term care and mail order pharmacy operations with a contract-to-hire opportunity in Williamston, NC. This role offers day shifts Monday through Friday, 9am to 6pm, with occasional Saturdays on the same schedule, for approximately 15 weeks and the potential for direct hire.

Key Responsibilities:

Accept and dispense prescription medications accurately.
Monitor patient medication compliance and identify overuse.
Ensure medication supply complies with legal regulations.
Verify that prescribed medications are appropriate for patients.
Maintain confidential patient records and pharmacy files meticulously.
Advise patients on medication usage, potential reactions, and answer inquiries.
Offer consultation on prescription and OTC medications regarding storage, dosage, side effects, and interactions.
Provide patient services such as smoking cessation counseling, blood pressure checks, and cholesterol management.
Educate patients on proper use of medical devices like blood pressure monitors and glucose meters.
Compound medications and prepare sterile solutions following standard protocols.
Supervise pharmacy staff, including technicians and clerks.
Manage inventory of pharmaceutical and medical supplies.
Identify drug-related issues and communicate effectively with healthcare practitioners.
Collaborate with physicians, nurses, pharmacists, and interns to optimize patient care.

Qualifications:

Pharmacy experience required.
Long-term care (LTC) pharmacy experience is a plus.
Must hold a valid North Carolina pharmacy license.

Location:

Williamston, North Carolina

Shift and Schedule:

Days, Monday through Friday 9am - 6pm
Some Saturdays 9am - 6pm
