Mail Order LTC Staff Pharmacist - Winterville, North Carolina
This opportunity offers a rewarding role for a licensed pharmacist to support long-term care and mail order pharmacy services. The position provides a thoughtful blend of patient care, medication management, and team leadership in a structured environment. With days scheduled Monday through Friday from 9am to 6pm plus occasional Saturdays, this role balances a steady routine with the occasional weekend shift.
Key Responsibilities:
- Accept and accurately dispense prescription medications to patients.
- Monitor medication compliance and identify over-usage trends.
- Ensure legal compliance of medicine supply and appropriateness of prescribed therapies.
- Maintain confidential patient records and manage pharmacy documentation systematically.
- Counsel patients on medication usage, side effects, and answer their questions thoroughly.
- Provide clinical services including smoking cessation support, blood pressure monitoring, and cholesterol management.
- Educate patients on proper use of medical devices such as glucose meters and blood pressure monitors.
- Compound medications following strict sterile preparation protocols.
- Supervise pharmacy staff, including technicians and clerks, fostering a collaborative team environment.
- Maintain inventory of pharmaceutical and medical supplies to support daily operations.
- Collaborate effectively with physicians, nurses, and healthcare professionals to optimize patient outcomes.
Qualifications:
- Licensed Pharmacist in North Carolina.
- Proven pharmacy experience; long-term care experience is highly advantageous.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently while supporting multidisciplinary teams.
