Hospital Staff Pharmacist in Yonkers, NY
A hospital in White Plains, New York, is seeking a Per Diem Registered Pharmacist for a direct-hire opportunity. This role involves providing expert pharmaceutical services within a dynamic healthcare team to ensure safe, high-quality patient care. The position offers an alternate day shift schedule with approximately 24 hours per week, allowing for flexible work hours.

Primary Responsibilities:
- Review medication orders against patient profiles for accuracy, safety, and potential interactions
- Deliver pharmaceutical services in line with hospital policies and professional standards
- Support patient safety initiatives and provide age-specific medication education
- Collaborate closely with physicians, nurses, pharmacy staff, and other healthcare professionals
- Follow infection control, risk management, and performance improvement protocols
- Utilize clinical judgment to prioritize responsibilities effectively
- Supervise pharmacy assistants and transporters as needed
- Maintain flexibility to accommodate staffing needs and changing assignments
- Apply cost-containment strategies in medication management
- Engage in training, in-services, and departmental quality improvement projects
- Perform additional duties as assigned by pharmacy leadership
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Bachelors degree in Pharmacy required
- Active New York pharmacist license in good standing at the time of hire
- Working knowledge of medication-delivery systems
- Familiarity with medical terminology
- Strong communication, organizational, and clinical decision-making skills
- Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team
- Commitment to patient safety and professional accountability
- Willingness to work an alternate schedule with variable daytime hours
