Consulting Managed Care Staff Pharmacist in Zachary, LA
This remote telehealth pharmacist role focuses on Medication Therapy Management (MTM) consulting within a multi-state environment. The assignment is for 13 weeks, starting in October, with flexible onboarding surges scheduled through the year. Candidates must hold active pharmacist licenses in multiple states, with a minimum of five preferred. Licensure in Louisiana is highly advantageous as it serves as the hub for this expanding telepharmacy service, which is rolling out coverage to 30-40 states by the fall.

Responsibilities:
- Conduct virtual patient consultations via phone or video, performing Comprehensive Medication Reviews (CMRs) and Targeted Medication Reviews (TMRs).
- Address medication side effects, answer therapy-related questions, and promote adherence to prescribed therapies.
- Evaluate prior authorization requests and formulary exceptions against client clinical guidelines.
- Collaborate with prescribers to recommend cost-effective and formulary-aligned alternatives.
- Proactively identify patients with gaps in care and coordinate clinical outreach to patients and their providers.
- Assist with formulary support, translating clinical intent into codeable rules and reviewing complex claims data.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA, state telepharmacy regulations, and client contractual requirements.
Qualifications:
- Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) or Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy.
- Active and unrestricted pharmacist license in multiple states (minimum five).
- Minimum 2 years of clinical pharmacy experience, preferably in PBM, managed care, or telehealth.
- Strong clinical knowledge in chronic disease management, drug utilization review, and formulary navigation.
- Comfortable using telehealth software, electronic health records, and PBM claims platforms.
- Excellent communication skills for patient interactions and provider collaboration.
