Retail Hospital Staff Pharmacist in Zachary, LA

Key Responsibilities:
- Accurately prepare and dispense drug orders following physician requests and established protocols.
- Interpret both verbal and written prescriptions, ensuring precise transcription into computerized medication profiles.
- Maintain comprehensive and accurate patient medication profiles.
- Dispense pharmaceuticals with attention to safety and legality, including controlled substances.
- Monitor drug therapies for interactions, contraindications, allergies, and appropriate dosing.
- Detect, report, and document adverse drug reactions promptly.
- Offer clinical consultation to healthcare practitioners, recommending cost-effective therapeutic alternatives as needed.
- Document all clinical activities thoroughly.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and medication use reviews.
- Supervise pharmacy support personnel, including verifying daily activities and contributing to performance evaluations.
- Organize work assignments to ensure timely delivery of pharmacy services.
- Conduct medication storage inspections, ensuring outdated or unusable drugs are replaced.
- Provide professional communication at all times, including telephone and patient interactions.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Licensed Pharmacist in Louisiana, with at least five additional active licenses from the following states: Indiana, North Carolina, South Carolina, Illinois, New Jersey, Iowa, New Hampshire, North Dakota, South Dakota, Utah, Washington, West Virginia, Arkansas, Kansas, Maine, Montana, Oklahoma, Virginia, Wyoming.
- Prior experience in retail or hospital pharmacy settings.
- Commitment to obtaining licensure in a minimum of 10 states (beyond Louisiana) within 18 months.
- Strong knowledge of medication therapy management and hospital pharmacy operations.
