Inpatient Hospital Staff Pharmacist - Zachary, LA

A hospital inpatient pharmacy opportunity is available for experienced pharmacists seeking a dynamic role on the second shift. This 13-week contract to hire position offers the potential for extension or direct hire, with 3 to 4 openings available.

Responsibilities:

• Provide accurate and timely dispensing of medications within a 131-bed inpatient hospital setting, supporting 60 to 70 active beds.
• Utilize Epic for order entry and collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure optimal patient care.
• Manage medication automation through Pyxis systems, with training available if needed.
• Work Monday through Friday from 12:30 pm to 9:00 pm, including rotating weekends to maintain patient coverage.
• Maintain compliance with hospital policies, pharmacy regulations, and safety standards.

Qualifications:

• Current Louisiana pharmacy license is required.
• Proven inpatient hospital experience.
• Familiarity with Pyxis medication automation preferred; training provided.
• Experience using Epic electronic medical record system preferred; training provided.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team.
